Child Support
The Child Support Scheme enables separated families to provide and obtain financial assistance for the care and maintenance of a child or children. The amount of child support payable by one parent to the other is calculated by the Child Support Agency on a case-by-case basis. In some cases, parents can reach a private agreement on the amount of support provided without the need for the Child Support Agency to monitor and collect payments on the benefiting parent’s behalf. In these cases we are able to prepare Child Support Agreements.
In other cases, it is the Child Support Agency who will assess and ensure payments are received by the entitled party. We provide our clients with advice on entitlements and administrative assessments conducted by the Child Support Agency.
